For Release: Wingflix presents “The Deplorables and
Despicables”
January
2017, nine independent filmmakers came to Washington, D.C to make
a documentary about two days that shook the world, the Inauguration
of Donald Trump and the Women’s March.
Those days revealed that everything had changed. Backslapping
bully politics were confronted with pink pussy protests on a massive
scale.
“The Deplorables and Despicables” is a 66 minute documentary shot
in the streets for a week. Everyone talked to us, both sides
tell their stories and those screams, whispers, cries, and prayers are the
heart of this film.
Within 24 hours the victorious Republicans celebration was challenged
by hundreds of thousands of mobilized women demanding that their
voices also be heard.
Trump’s Triumph and the Women’s March were heard around the world and the
political events of those two days reverberate today. Trump rules,
Mobs rule. Votes count, or don’t. Masks are reality.
“The Deplorables and Despicables” is a mashup, a shoutout, a
hootenanny, a hymn, a hip hop poem to a country in need of inspiration.
It’s a primer for the voting public. It’s a cautionary tale of the
future we now all living.
